Sunflower Thoughts

Kind, supportive and forward-thinking

I am Sunflower

Sunflower, a mental health blogger, sat in bed reading a book in front of her face.

Sunflower | sun·flow·er | noun
a plant, usually having a very tall stem and a single large, round, flat, yellow flower, with many long, thin, narrow petals close together.

It’s difficult to create an entirely new identity, especially when your day-to-day life consists of living out the old one.

I’ve been blogging for close to five years now. Different blogs, but always under my real name. Always about frivolous topics and trinkets that I absolutely adore, but leave me no room to explore other genres that I am passionate about; politics, mental health, self care, mindfulness, feminism... even just a good old rant from time to time without risk of retribution in my everyday world.

Now, I am Sunflower.

Wild, quirky, carefree, standing tall with my face to the sun. Ready to take on the world and express my thoughts and feelings, whilst still having a laugh and a cup of tea along the way.

This blog is now a place for me to express myself, discuss my mental health and well-being, whilst sharing self care tips, funny anecdotes and my thoughts on current events.

My words to live by:

1. Always be kind
2. Do no harm, but take no shit.
3. Listen, smile, agree and then do whatever you were going to do anyway
